China’s Bodyguards are Struggling to Find Enough Rich People to Protect

Ever wonder what private security is like in other countries?

Guards can earn up to $3,000 a month – four times China’s average wage. Training ranges from the mundane to the unorthodox – new recruits are often pounded until bloodied. Many train with no intention of pursing a career in private security – some just seek to learn new skills or toughen up.

Perhaps that’s for the best. Seems China’s billionaires are cutting back on personnel, citing a slowing economy, corruption and a growing distaste for ostentatious behavior.
