Israel took a big leap forward last week to better guard against outside terror threats when it transferred the Arrow-3 Weapon System from the Missile Defense Organization to its Air Force. The Arrow 3 is designed to provide ultimate air defense by intercepting ballistic missiles when they are still outside the Earth’s atmosphere. The interceptor also has longer range capabilities and better missile engagements. When combined with the Arrow-2, it is expected to greatly reduce the threat from ballistic missiles.
The Arrow-3 development program is a joint program between Israel and the United States. Additional collaborative efforts between the two countries are in the works.
