There’s good news for returning war veteran job seekers. In November, the veteran unemployment rate was 4.8%, slightly higher that the overall unemployment rate of 4.6% but still keeping with an overall downward trend that began two years ago.
Small wonder that many of those vets have found new careers as police officers. With a similar skill set, these highly trained individuals are being snapped up by departments across the country.
Just released by armed forces publication Military Times is their list of the top law enforcement agencies for veterans. Topping the list are the Cincinnati Police Department, Denver Police Department, and Harris County Sheriff’s Office in Texas.
