Best wishes to Eddie Sorrells who in January was named a Council Vice President of ASIS International. Sorrells, who is also COO and General Counsel for DSI Security Services, previously chaired the Security Services Council.
Eddie has over 23 years of security experience and is responsible for the operations of DSI’s 3,000 employees in 23 states. He is a frequent speaker on topics such as workplace violence, employment law, and security litigation.
Bob Giordano, COO of Kwantek, was pegged to be the new Security Services Council Chair. Bob joined Kwantek as in August of 2011 after a successful career in the security industry in various capacities. He spent many years as a consultant to the contract security industry assisting many security companies in creating efficient and strong organizations focusing on operations and technology.
The ASIS councils provide a vital link between practitioners and the Society to ensure that only the most relevant and latest information on security practices is made available for members. By focusing on specialized security practice areas, councils offer resources to increase professional effectiveness, and niche networks relevant to specific sectors.
The security council conducts educational workshops and webinars each year, and participates in industry associations and partnerships.
