Navy to Issue New Lightweight, Flame-Resistant Coveralls

After several wear tests, the Navy is expected to issue new flame-resistant coveralls to sailors this fall. Previous versions were ditched due to their inability to self-extinguish and inability to wick away moisture.

The new dark blue coveralls are lightweight, and are made from a tri-fiber blend that pulls sweat away from the body. The uniform also offers flash-arc protection to guard against electrical currents

Sailor reaction has been positive, with the majority saying the new version looked better and was more comfortable. Better yet: the new uniforms are twice as durable, making them a cost effective option.
