New Law Will Soon Allow Churches to Provide Their Own Armed Security Teams

Next time you’re heading to church in Texas, be sure to pack your gun along with your weekly offering.
Starting in September, churches will be allowed to arm their own members rather than hiring private security to protect parishioners. Congregants who are legally able to carry a firearm will be allowed to form teams, although they will not be allowed to wear uniforms or label themselves as security.
The legislation is being hailed as a victory for choice and religious freedom.
