Tall Ships event in Boston Harbor deemed a high security risk

The Tall Ships that sailed into Boston over the weekend brought with them a security detail that is about four times larger than it was during the last Boston appearance of the Tall Ships in 2009.
Tall Ships in Boston event, which runs through June 22 has been designated one of the highest security risks in the country this year. Only the presidential inauguration was ranked higher. Boston last saw a security operation of this type in 2004, during the Democratic National Convention.
The city is taking an all-hands-on-deck approach to securing this event. The Coast Guard will have more than 500 personnel working to ensure safety, and the entire Boston Police Department will be on hand to safeguard the area. Parking restrictions and road closures are also in effect.
At least 3 million spectators are expected to attend.
