Worcester police honor officers, security guard


Partnerships between private security and law enforcement are often effective crime-fighting tools, as the following incident illustrates.

Security officer Robert Medina of Worcester, MA, recently received the Citizen Chief of Police citation for coming to the assistance of a Worcester police officer working a construction detail in August. Medina, who was on patrol in a nearby store, came to the aid of a police officer as he struggled with a suspect in the parking lot. The suspect was ultimately arrested and charged with several crimes.

In his presentation, Police Chief Steven M. Sargent called Medina “selfless, courageous and admirable.”

We wholeheartedly agree. Congratulations officer Medina!
